"Vitreous" earned it's name because of it's resemblance to molton glass. This 8.5 ct. intricately carved Arizona Fire Agate shimmers with irridescent green, orange, brown and gold. It is 3/4" long and 1/2" across.
Fire agate is found only in the southwestern U.S.A. and in northern Mexico. Fire agates have a hardness of 6.5-7 on the MOHS scale so these irridescent rainbow colored stones are extremely durable.
