Alisha’s newest fossil design incorporates fluid cresting waves with fossilized Otodus Shark Teeth from Morocco. The design has been eons in coming to fruition although not as long as the shark teeth are old! Otodus sharks lived from the Paleocene (66 million years ago) to the Miocene (5million years ago.) Sharks in general have many rows of teeth and as front rows are shed, back rows move forward. Otodus shark teeth are plentiful but finding perfect specimens is difficult. The teeth of this shark have a triangular crown with a smooth cutting edge and visible cusps on the roots. “All the better to bite you with my dear!” The shape of the tooth gives Alisha's wave design secure purchase. At this point only a few are available. The design is approximately 1-1/2 across 1-1/4” high and cast in sterling silver.
Each specimen has its unique characteristics and time worn imperfections.
