Alisha and I just returned from the 2024 Tucson Gem, Mineral and fossil show. It was love at first sight when we spotted this 47.5 Carat freeform Mexican matrix opal. To us, the five lumpy windows of orange and green opalescence immediately called for an 18K gold octopus to embrace this treasure! Selfishly, I am hoarding it so it is not available for purchase and I am anxiously awaiting time to design a one of a kind Octopus Pendant around this opal. The dimensions of the opal are 38.6mm x 23mm.
