This remarkable Nautilus Pendant features an ammonite fossil bezel set with a 5mm gemstone. These are the first of Alisha's Nautilus' to be cast in 14k Gold. Alisha hand picks each fossilized ammonite and finding specimens of this quality is rare. These pendants measure approximately 2" diagonally from the bail to the tip of the tentacles. They are drilled and pegged securely into especially beautiful miniature fossilized ammonite shells. The fossilized shells shimmer subtly with iridescence and have an intricate interlocking jade pattern.
These golden brown and tan colors harmonize beautifully with the 14K Gold Nautilus. The golden brown Ammonite shell is bezel set with a 5mm brilliant green Chrome Diopside (option A), and the Iridescent tan brown Ammonite shell is bezel set with a 5mm dazzling Fire Opal. These gems both compliment their beautiful shells. These pendants measure 2" diagonally.

What is an Ammonite? Although it is easy to imagine that today’s Nautilus descended from the Ammonite, the extinct marine Ammonite was more closely related to the octopus, squid and cuttlefish then the nautilus. Ammonites belonged to the class Cephalopoda and first appeared during the Devonian age. Their spiral shape shells are beautiful and the species evolved over millenniums. Depending on ocean sediments and aquatic chemistry the fossilization process creates varied results. There are Ammonites with intricate jade patters; opalized, spiky, rainbow, red flash and pyritized Ammonites.
