Zacatitos, Baja is stunningly beautiful. It is an oasis of calm where the desert meets the Sea of Cortez. Kettles of vultures hold court, geckos and lizards lounge, droves of wild burros roam and pods of whales migrate along the coast of Baja. There are magnificent sunsets with cone shaped mountains silhouetted against a vermillion sky and the ocean is the intoxicating color of paraiba tourmaline.
This two sided, bas relief medallion is my representation of Zacatitos, a slice of paradise on the east cape of Baja. It is cast in sterling silver and is 1 3/4" high and 1 1/4" across.
