Connecting with the costume director for the Next Generation of Star Trek is not my favorite memory. In the early 1980's, at the Los Angeles Harvest Festival, a man dropped off his card and asked me to contact him the next time I was in Los Angeles. He was the costume director for Star Trek at Paramount Studios. A few weeks later, I nervously made the call to make an appointment at the studio. They requested that I bring all of my ear wraps. I drove several hours, arrived at the studio, showed the man my line and he choose 4 pairs or 5 pairs. When I told him my prices he looked shocked and told me that my prices were more than his budget allowed. I was young and easily intimidated so I offered him a discount. He suggested that instead of paying me, that they give me photos of the cast wearing my ear wraps and that this would be worth much more to me in the long run. Pressured, I agreed to this, shook his hand and left all of my contact information so that Paramount could mail me the photos that he had promised. Weeks went by and the photos did not arrive. I telphoned the studio and wrote several letters requesting either payment or the promised photos. I eventually gave up. The following year, friends of mine telephoned me to tell me that they had seen Commander Riker wearing my Leaf Ear Wrap in an episode of Star Trek. He wore it in a seduction scene when he visited a planet dominated by women.

The episode from Star Trek, The Next Gerneration, is called Angel One.
