Beetles are my favorite insects and I marvel at their remarkable coats of armor, incredible appendages and iridescent colors. I was “charmed” by the Rhinoceros beetle on numerous trips to Costa Rica and Ecuador. In Okinawa, I encountered my first Stag Beetles when my son adopted a pair as pets.
