Our intricate three dimensional Shisa Head Pendant is lost wax cast in sterling silver. My husband, Art, created the design using 3-D software and printed with a resin printer. Subsequently they are lost wax cast in sterling silver. This open mouth Shisa Pendant is carefully detailed down to its teeth and the traditional Japanese cloud swirls for the mane. The substantial and weighty pendant is 1-3/8" high and 1" across.
The Shisa is a guardian creature that is part lion, dog and dragon. In other parts of Asia, these might be called Foo Dogs or Shishi. Pairs of Shisas flank Okinawan gateways or keep watch from rooftops to ward off evil spirits.
