Sequoia - Australian Koroit Boulder Opal - SOLD - 34 ct

Fluid opalescent veins swirl within the rich brown and tan matrix of this Australian Koroit Boulder Opal. As always, naming the opal is a part of my process and I imagine the complex pattern of veining to be an underground root and aquifer network for a venerable Sequoia tree. Indigo blue veins tinged with lilac flow within a matrix of tan and brown. It is a remarkable stone. The stone weighs 34 carats and is 1 1/4" long 11/16 " wide.
