These asymmetrical Marston marble fossil earrings feature two arrow shaped cabochons embedded with tiny ammonite fossils. Two ammonite charms top the earrings with a single 4mm Mexican fire opal set in the center of one. These are one of a kind earrings created in solid sterling silver. The overall length of each earrings is 2" long.

Marston Marble fossils are from Somerset, England. The most prevalent specimens were collected during the 18th and 19th centuries when limestone slabs were quarried and prized as decorative marble. The dark limestone is crowded with small ammonite concretions that make beautiful patterns.

Ammonites are an extinct marine mollusk in the class of Cephalopoda. Ammonites thrived from the beginning of the Jurassic period, 201 million years ago through the Cretaceous period, about 66 million years ago.
