Honeycomb Lace - Mexican Matrix Opal - 79 carats

Alisha and I recently returned from the 2024 Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil show. We were so inspired by this Mexican Matrix Fire Opal that just like bees to honey, we returned 3 times before buying this opal. Although over our budget it was love at first sight. The opal is not available on its own. Selfishly, we are hoarding this treasure. I will create a one of a kind 18K gold dragon pendant to guard this opal. I envision setting the opal horizontally. The opal weighs 79 carats and the dimensions are 72mm x 25mm.
