'Nova' is a 23.25 Ct Ethiopian Matrix Opal. It is gently triangular in shape and blazes orange and green and gold. A small piece of the matrix is visible on one side. Dimensions are: 22.5mm x 18.25mm x 12.5mm deep
Alisha spotted several remarkable Ethiopian Matrix Opals at the 2025 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. Because of the rising price of Mexican and Australian opals, we decided to expand our collection and purchase a few Ethiopian Opals. We examined many enticing rainbow colored Ethiopian Opals but favored these unusual one’s with their matrix. Each one has a story to tell hidden within the translucent gems.
