'Lavender Lava' is a 7.1ct Arizona Fire Agate with iridescent overtones of lavender, violet and gold. This stone was carved by one of the finest carvers, Ryszard Krukowski. The subtle peacock colors of this stone are unusual and more sought after than the usual red, orange and green fire agates. Expert carving is of prime importance. Dimensions of this stone are 12.5mm x 11mm.
Cutting fire agate is an art and requires excavating the top layers of chalcedony without damaging the iridescent layers below. Fire agate is found only in the southwestern U.S.A. and in northern Mexico. Fire Agates have a hardness of 6.5-7 on the MOHS scale so these iridescent rainbow colored stones are extremely durable.
