This substantial Mexican Fire Opal weighs 29 carats. I named this opal 'Lambent' which means softly bright or radiant and describes this opal well. Procuring large Mexican Opals with a play of opalescent color has become increasingly difficult and expensive. It will be fun to design a setting for this whirl shape opal. The opal is 15/16" high and 3/4" wide. (22.5mm x 19.5mm)
