Dear friends and collectors,
I recently returned from the 2010 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. As always, it was an inspiration for me. I had a delicious time on my own, with freedom to linger as long as I wished perusing a collection of opals, crystals, or gemstones. I believe that I returned with some exceptional stones. I have an addiction for opals of all kinds, and previously, my primary focus has been the Mexican Fire Opal. This year, I chose a different color palette and purchased mostly Australian Opals. I indulged in many significant stones; Australian Boulder Opal, alive with intoxicating blue iridescence; and Australian Yowah and Korite Opal, with intricate patterns of opal and matrix intertwined. Enjoy the natural beauty of these amazing opals and keep an eye out for many one of a kind pieces in this coming year.
